“With guidance and support from all staff in the school, along with my department and mentors; my experience of training at Whitley Academy through the school direct route was great! I feel like I made excellent progress towards the teaching standards and through a personalised trainee induction programme, I was able to develop in all other aspects of teaching. “My route through my teacher training through the RSA Teaching School has been challenging but also incredibly rewarding and enjoyable. “All of the students at Hamilton School have a diagnosis of autism.  It is a primary special school with a dream to be all age.  We have a key set of principles around our ‘What We Stand For Document’ and the school was recently described as an ‘extraordinarily happy and calm place’.  We currently have 85 students but due to our current expansion we will have 110 by January 2017!”
